Ground rules for the meetings
The members agreed the following ground rules for group meetings, in order for them to be effective:
[1] Confidentiality – all things discussed within the group to be treated as confidential
[2] One person speaking at once
[3] Listen to others
[4] Ensure everyone has an opportunity to join in
[5] Respect each other and understand that everyone has an experience / contribution to make
[6] Have fun
[7] Agree topics in advance
[8] Raise awareness of other groups, e.g.
[a] Survivorship
[b]Get opinions from other people / groups in relation to key issues
[c] Enable patients to become aware of other groups that may help them – signposting and look at creating support groups within the surgery where appropriate.
